Terms of Service
Last Update: 14 August 2026
These Terms of Use ("Agreement") apply to every individual and corporate user ("User", "you") of the Commentrs platform ("Platform", "Commentrs", "we", "us"). By creating an account or using the Platform you confirm that you have read, understood and accepted this Agreement in full. If you do not accept it, do not use the Platform.
This Agreement is written to be read. Where a rule involves a number — a threshold, a fee, a share, a waiting period — that number is stated here rather than described in the abstract, and the screen that applies it shows the same number. Where a figure is configurable by us, this Agreement says so and states the value in force at the date above.
CHAPTER 1 — WHAT COMMENTRS IS, AND HOW ITS ECONOMY WORKS
1.1 The Platform
Commentrs is a short-video social platform. You can post videos and photo carousels, comment, send direct messages, publish stories, broadcast live, and follow other accounts. There is a personalised feed ("For You"), a Following feed, a Discover surface with search and hashtags, and per-sound pages that collect every clip using a given piece of audio.
Commentrs is available as a website and as an Android application. Some features are deliberately website-only and are identified as such in this Agreement; the application shows a notice in their place rather than a control that cannot work.
1.2 Account types
Every account is exactly one of three types. The type decides which tools you see and which parts of the economy apply to you. You can see and change your type at Settings → Account status.
- Normal. The default. Post, comment, message, go live, buy and send Coms, earn Diamonds, promote your own videos, and read basic analytics for your account and for each clip.
- Creator. Unlocks the creator toolkit: trending audio, collaborations, content topic tags, pinned posts, a broadcast channel, comment keyword filters, a tip jar, subscriber-only posts, and advanced analytics. Requires the Creator Mode gate in section 7.1.
- Business. A corporate account that spends on the Platform instead of earning from it. It requires a verified application (section 1.10) and it removes withdrawals, Diamonds and the ability to receive tips. Switching between Normal and Creator is instant; becoming a Business is an application reviewed by a person.
Changing type never removes a badge you have already earned. A badge records something you did; it is not a status that lapses.
1.3 Coms — the Platform currency
Coms are the unit of the in-platform economy. They are bought with money, sent to other users as tips and gifts, spent on promotion, and — subject to Chapter 7 — converted back into money.
- Reference value: 1 Com = 0.01598 USD. Every purchase price on the Platform is derived from this rate rather than typed in separately, so no pack can drift away from it.
- Packs: 500 Coms, 1,200 Coms and 3,000 Coms. All three are sold at the reference rate. The larger two carry bonus Diamonds instead of a discount (+25 and +50 respectively).
- Custom amounts: any amount from 50 to 100,000 Coms, at the same reference rate.
- We do not discount Coms. A discount would devalue every Com already held, including the ones creators are about to withdraw at the same rate — quietly cutting the payout rate for everybody. Bonus Diamonds are a separate, budgeted reward that moves no exchange rate.
1.3.1 Processing fees on purchases
A payment processing fee is added at checkout and is shown before you pay:
- A pack, or a Commentrs Pro subscription: 5% + 0.50 USD.
- A custom Coms amount: 5% + 1.00 USD. The percentage is identical; only the fixed part differs, because a custom amount can be as small as 50 Coms and on a basket that size the processor's own per-transaction fee is most of the cost.
This fee is the payment processor's, not a Platform margin on the Coms themselves. It is never charged twice on the same money: exchanging Coms you already own for business Credits carries no fee at all (section 1.10).
1.4 Diamonds — earned, never bought
Diamonds are a reward balance. There is no way to buy them and no way to withdraw them directly.
- Donating pays you back 25% of the amount you sent, in Diamonds. This applies to every way of giving: a tip on a video or profile, a manual donation in a live stream, a pinned message, and a gift bought off a streamer's gift shelf. The base is always the DONATION, never the surcharge on a pin.
- 100 Diamonds convert to 50 Coms.
- One hour of uninterrupted viewing pays Diamonds while "Launching Times" is enabled on your account (section 1.8). The hourly rate follows the advertising value of your Home Region: 20 Diamonds in Tier 1 regions, 12 in Tier 2, 6 in Tier 3. Your Home Region is anchored to your verified payment card, so changing your Content Region or For You Zone does not change your rate. The rate in force for your account is always shown on the Wallet screen.
- Business accounts do not accrue Diamonds at all.
1.5 Tips, donations and the revenue split
Any user may send Coms to a creator: from the coin button in the comment composer (which pays the creator of that video), from the Donate control on a profile, or during a live broadcast.
- The sender is debited the full amount. The creator receives 50%, rounded UP; the Platform receives the remainder. Example: on 15 Coms the creator receives 8 and the Platform 7.
- On content marked "Pro Only", the creator's share is 60%.
- The sender additionally earns Diamonds worth 25% of the amount, as set out in section 1.4.
- You cannot tip yourself, and you cannot tip an account that has blocked you or that you have blocked.
1.6 Live broadcasting
Going live requires 100 followers (50 with Commentrs Pro). Starting a broadcast is two steps: you name the stream, and you are then offered a promotion for it. THE STREAM IS ALREADY LIVE BY THE SECOND STEP — the offer sits over a running broadcast rather than in front of one, because holding a host at a payment screen while their audience waits is not a choice anybody makes freely. Skipping does nothing at all: no reduced reach, no penalty, and the same promotion stays available from Studio settings → Stream for as long as you are live. Pricing is in section 1.9. Inside a broadcast:
- Manual donation. As section 1.5, with the ordinary split and Diamond reward.
- Pinned message. Holds the top of the stage for 5 minutes and costs 200% of the amount you choose (100% — that is, face value — with Commentrs Pro). The creator's half is computed from the DONATION, not from the total: the surcharge is the price of the placement, not extra earnings. The host can take any pin down at any time. Paying to put a message over somebody's face does not buy the right to keep it there.
- Gift shelf. A streamer may publish up to 50 gifts of their own, priced in Coms. Because the streamer sets the price themselves, a platform rate of 65% applies to gifts sold from a self-made shelf (50% with Commentrs Pro) — without it, a streamer could set an arbitrary price and route the ordinary split around the Platform entirely.
- Guests. A host may invite mutual followers on stage, and viewers may ask to join if the host allows requests. An invitation is an OFFER: nobody's camera goes out until they accept. The host decides what guests may do — camera, microphone, screen share, and whether guests may invite other people — and withdrawing one of those permissions takes effect immediately, including on a guest who is already using it. The host's own camera, microphone and screen share are never governed by those switches.
- Reports. A live stream reported by several viewers in quick succession is paused automatically for review, and either resumes or ends according to that review.
1.7 Invitations
Inviting a new user earns 5 Coms, subject to all of the following:
- The reward is recorded immediately and paid once the invited account has earned 50 Diamonds or watched 20 advertisements. An invitation that never becomes an active user pays nothing.
- A maximum of 5 invitations may be registered per account per day.
- An invitation code may be used only by an account created within the previous 7 days, and only once per account.
- An invitation claimed on the same device as the inviter, or by an account flagged for inauthentic activity, is void and pays nothing.
1.8 Launching Times
Launching Times is a temporary growth-phase programme. It is off by default and must be enabled by you, in Settings → Rewards.
- While enabled: viewing time pays Diamonds at the Home Region rate; the withdrawal threshold and the Creator Mode gate are waived; and 5 advertisements must be watched per withdrawal.
- The 14-day payout hold is NOT waived. It is an anti-fraud measure rather than a threshold.
- While disabled: all standard rules and thresholds apply.
We may withdraw the programme once the Platform reaches a given level of activity. Doing so does not affect Diamonds or Coms already credited to your wallet.
1.9 Promotion
Any account may buy reach for its own content. Promotion is reached from the video's share sheet, from that video's analytics, from the account analytics screen, and — for business accounts — from a Promotion button on the profile.
- Published rates: 300 Coms per 1,000 views (Broad Boost); 500 Coms per 1,000 views (Targeted Niche); 800 Coms per 1,000 views (Business Link Boost, business accounts only, and the only tier that carries a clickable link).
- Each viewer is counted at most once per campaign. A campaign buys reach, not repeat views.
- If the delivery target is not met, the undelivered portion is refunded pro rata, IN FULL. Example: a 50-Com campaign for 100 views that delivers 50 views refunds 25 Coms. There is no commission, no processing fee and no deduction of any kind on that refund. We previously charged 10% on it; we do not, because a fee on reach we failed to deliver is a charge for our own failure, and it is not defensible in any jurisdiction merely because most of them permit it.
- Boosting a live stream is priced separately, because a stream cannot be re-run: 1 Com buys a target of 1 live viewer, so 100 Coms targets 100 and typically delivers between 50 and 100. That range is published rather than the target alone, because a live boost puts your stream in front of people who are already on the Platform at that moment and no budget changes how many of those there are. A live boost runs until you end the broadcast, and ends with it.
1.10 Business accounts
A business account is the mirror image of a creator account: it pays into the Platform and does not take money out. It must be applied for and is approved by a person.
1.10.1 What the application requires
- Certificate of Incorporation.
- Tax certificate showing the company in good standing with its revenue authority.
- Articles of Organization, showing who has legal signing authority.
- Proof of physical address in the legal name (utility bill, lease or bank statement).
- Government photo identification for the principal director or beneficial owner.
- An email address on your own company domain — not a consumer mail provider.
- Verification of that email address. We send a six-digit code to it and the application cannot be submitted until the code is entered. This proves only that the mailbox we will use to reach you is one you can read; the documents and the reviewer decide everything about the company itself.
Documents are stored in private storage readable only by our reviewers, never by other users. Your company may be registered in any country; it does not have to match your Home Region.
1.10.2 What a business account gains
- Business Tools in place of Analytics on the profile — the whole toolkit in one screen.
- Advanced analytics: engagement, audience demographics and active hours.
- A product catalogue attachable to any post, and in-app lead forms.
- Automated direct-message replies and a split inbox.
- Team access: staff work on the account with their own logins and per-person permissions (section 3.4).
- A Promotion button on the profile, and Credits — a prepaid advertising balance with no follower gate.
- Business Link Boost, the only promotion tier with a clickable link.
- An unlimited number of Content Regions (every other account type may select 2), and a retargeting pixel.
- No advertisements anywhere in the application.
1.10.3 What a business account gives up
- Withdrawals. A business account has no payout side at all.
- Diamonds. They stop accruing entirely.
- Receiving tips. You may still send them.
- Creator Mode and Launching Times, both of which are switched off.
These consequences are shown in full before an application can be submitted, and the only route to a business account is Settings → Account status → Business, so the comparison with the other two types is always in front of you.
1.10.4 Credits
Credits are a prepaid advertising balance. 1 Credit = 100 Coms = 2.68 USD. Credits may be bought with a card or exchanged from Coms you already hold; the exchange carries no processing fee, because that fee was paid when the Coms were bought and charging it twice is what makes an in-app currency feel like a trap.
Credits are ONE-WAY. They cannot be converted into Coms, withdrawn, or refunded as money. That is what keeps them a prepaid advertising balance rather than a stored-value product. Each Credit is guaranteed a minimum delivery — 250 views, or 2 link clicks, or 1 follower, depending on what the campaign targets — and anything undelivered is returned to the balance.
A business account may switch back to a personal account. Doing so restores withdrawals, Diamonds and tips, and removes the business toolkit; linked accounts beyond the personal cap are archived and deleted after 30 days, and the consequences are itemised before anything changes.
1.11 Content requirements for revenue
Revenue-generating content must be at least 30 seconds long. This threshold may be relaxed while Launching Times is active. It does not apply to live broadcasts.
1.12 Advertising
Advertisements appear in the feed for accounts that are neither Pro nor business. Some Diamond rewards are funded by advertising and are stated as such where they are offered. We do not run third-party tracking scripts inside the application: a retargeting pixel supplied by a business account is stored and fired from that business's own site, because a tracker running inside the feed would follow every user of the Platform rather than that advertiser's visitors.
1.13 Dynamic regional jurisdiction
The Platform operates on a dynamic regional framework. Rather than enumerating every jurisdiction in this Agreement, all references to taxation, legal compliance, prohibited content and governmental notice adapt automatically to the Content Region or geographic location selected by you or determined by us.
- Taxation is governed by the competent local or regional tax authority of the applicable Content Region.
- You agree to comply with all applicable local, regional, national and international law of any territory you operate in or interact with through the Platform.
- We may enforce restrictions, removals or modifications in response to official notices from authorised governmental bodies of any territory, without a prior amendment to this Agreement.
1.13.1 Removal at the request of a region you selected
SELECTING A CONTENT REGION SUBMITS YOUR CONTENT TO THAT REGION'S GOVERNMENT. Where the head of state of a territory you have selected as a Content Region — a president, a prime minister, a monarch, or a body or ministry acting under their authority — requests the removal of content published into that territory, we act on that request and remove or block the content there.
This is a consequence of choosing the region, and it is stated here rather than discovered afterwards. You are not required to publish into any territory; you select each Content Region deliberately, and every one you select is one more government whose lawful removal requests apply to what you post. A territory you have NOT selected can still block your content within its own borders — nobody needs our permission to do that — but it is the regions you chose that reach the content itself.
Where a removal is regional, the content stays visible everywhere else it is lawful and remains yours. Where a request would require action beyond the territory that made it, we treat it as a request rather than an instruction, and it is assessed against this Agreement and applicable law like any other. The reason for a regional removal, and which territory made the request, is recorded on the content and shown to you.
CHAPTER 2 — REGION, LOCATION AND GEO-LOCKED CONTENT
2.1 Definitions
Region: your actual geographic location.
Home Region: the region anchored to your verified payment card. It determines your Diamond viewing rate and your withdrawal location, is stored permanently, and is not changed by editing a post.
Content Region: the territory in which you want your content shown. Normal, Creator and Pro accounts may select 2; business accounts may select any number. This setting is not visible to other users.
For You Zone: the territories whose content you wish to see in your own feed and on Discover.
2.2 Legal compliance
Everything you publish must be lawful to publish in your own Region and in every Content Region you select. Selecting an additional Content Region is an undertaking to comply with that territory's law. Governments may notify us whether given content may be published within their borders, and we act on those notices.
On a change of Region, existing content is reviewed against the applicable legal control file. Content unlawful in a territory is not shown in that territory.
2.3 Change of region and travel
- Accurately declaring travel after 15 days earns a +10% Coms bonus.
- After 30 days in a new country the account is archived automatically. It is reactivated by setting the Home Region to the new country or by returning to the original Home Region.
- Publishing is restricted after 15 days in a different region without a region change.
2.4 Detecting spoofed locations
2.4.1 Payment BIN matching
To buy Coms, and to become eligible to withdraw, the payment card must be verified. The card's Bank Identification Number must match the declared Region.
2.4.2 IP geolocation
The active session address must be consistent with the declared Region. A persistent discrepancy marks the account as travelling.
2.4.3 Travel claim verification
A travel claim requires the physical address to match the claimed country and payment to be made with a Home Region card. Otherwise the account is archived, and is reactivated as described in section 2.3.
2.5 Withdrawal location lock
The bank account or payment method used for a withdrawal must be located in your registered Region and must be compatible with the tax documentation of that Region. This makes location spoofing ineffective as a route to financial gain.
2.6 Governmental reports
Where a government reports with evidence that an account is being accessed from a different territory, the account is deleted. We make every reasonable effort to detect fictitious regions, and accept no responsibility for cases that cannot be detected.
CHAPTER 3 — ACCOUNTS, SECURITY, TEAMS AND SALES
3.1 Creating and holding accounts
- Normal: 2 accounts on the same email address.
- Pro: 3 accounts on the same email address.
- Business: accounts for multiple regions on the same email address.
- Device limit: at most 2 accounts may be used on one device. A third remains usable for browsing but cannot earn Diamonds and cannot withdraw.
- Disposable and temporary email addresses are not accepted at sign-up.
Your PRIMARY account is the one holding your email address and password. SECONDARY accounts hold neither and are opened from the account switcher next to your handle. "Make primary" moves your login to another account, which makes the previous one sellable. Some badges — OG, Founder and OG Pro — are shown only on a primary account; they are never deleted, only put to sleep, and making the account primary again wakes them.
3.2 Security
You are solely responsible for the security of your account. We recommend a strong password and two-factor authentication, which is available in Settings. We cannot be held responsible for unauthorised access resulting from your own negligence.
Accessing another user's account, obtaining their credentials, or attempting to take over an account is prohibited and results in immediate deletion.
Nobody at Commentrs will ever ask for your password, in a support ticket or anywhere else.
3.3 Direct messages and privacy
Direct messages are end-to-end encrypted. Direct messages and stories are limited to accounts you mutually follow. Group chats may be created with those accounts. Blocking is symmetric in effect: a blocked account cannot message you, tip you, invite you on stage, or see your content.
Watching is always anonymous. A creator can see who LIKED a video — a deliberate, public act — and can never see who watched it or how long for. Statistics never name anybody, and every demographic breakdown suppresses any bucket containing fewer than five people.
3.4 Team access on a business account
A business account may invite other accounts to work on it. Team access is an INVITATION, not an assignment:
- The invited person is notified and must ACCEPT. Until they do, they have no access of any kind.
- Accepting grants the "Staff of a Business Account" badge. It is never revoked when the relationship ends, because the work was done.
- The owner chooses, per person, exactly what that member may see and do: analytics, posting, the inbox, the shop, lead submissions, automated replies, promotions (which spend Credits), and managing the team itself. A role name is a preset for those choices, not a substitute for them.
- Reading lead submissions means reading other people's names, email addresses and telephone numbers. That permission is granted deliberately and separately.
- Either side may end it at any time. The owner can remove a member or withdraw an invitation; the member can leave. Removal takes effect immediately.
- Nobody ever receives the owner's password. A team member signs in as themselves.
3.5 Account sales
Accounts may be sold only through the in-app Account Sale feature, reached from the Wallet on a phone. The process is:
- The seller lists the account for a price in Coms.
- The buyer pays into escrow. Neither party may spend, donate or withdraw while a sale is in progress.
- The seller confirms. The account's remaining Coms balance transfers with it and the seller is paid the price less commission.
- On completion the email address is changed, the password is reset and all sessions are closed. The buyer receives a password-reset link; the seller's credentials stop working at that moment.
- Region information is updated automatically.
- If the handover does not complete, the buyer is refunded in full and the account does not transfer. A sale is never left partially completed.
- Suspended accounts, flagged accounts, business accounts, primary accounts, and accounts with an open withdrawal or a running promotion cannot be listed.
Commission is 30% on a standard account sale and 10% on a Pro account sale. Sales conducted outside the Platform are not recognised, and we accept no responsibility for losses arising from them.
CHAPTER 4 — MISUSE OF SYSTEM RESOURCES
⚠ Violations in this Chapter may result in suspension or permanent deletion without prior warning.
4.1 Prohibited behaviour
- Automated requests that overload Platform servers, spamming API endpoints, or conduct resembling a denial-of-service attack.
- Manufacturing engagement — views, likes, comments, follows or donations — with bots, scripts or macros.
- Using a VPN, proxy or comparable tool to circumvent regional restrictions.
- Any attempt to manipulate Platform systems or ranking.
- Creating accounts to abuse the invitation reward or the Diamond system.
- Reverse engineering the Platform's interfaces, or obtaining unauthorised access to them.
- Generating traffic through click farms or comparable arrangements.
- Using fraudulent card details or forged financial documents against the withdrawal system.
- Circumventing a rate limit, a cooldown or a per-account cap by any means.
4.2 Automated enforcement
Automated systems detect and block spam and VPN or proxy use. Accounts flagged by those systems may be reviewed or suspended. Rate limits exist on likes, requests to join a live stream, invitations, copyright claims and support tickets; they are set well above the level a person can reach by hand, so a hand is never throttled and a script always is.
CHAPTER 5 — ILLEGAL AND HARMFUL CONTENT
⚠ Violations in this Chapter result in permanent deletion without prior warning and, where required, referral to the relevant authorities.
5.1 Strictly prohibited content
- Unauthorised sharing or republication of copyrighted work.
- Malware, viruses, ransomware or phishing links.
- Child sexual abuse material, or any content harmful to children.
- Content inciting terrorism, promoting violence, or constituting hate speech.
- Content encouraging or facilitating the illegal trade in controlled substances or weapons, or any other unlawful activity.
- Unauthorised sharing of personal data (doxxing).
- Content created for fraudulent or deceptive purposes.
5.2 Automated checks and reporting
Uploads pass an automated safety review. A clip is visible to you immediately and to others once it passes. Comments containing terms blocked for your region, or terms a creator has filtered, are refused as they are written rather than hidden afterwards — hiding a comment after the fact still sends the notification.
Content, accounts, sounds, comments and live streams can all be reported. A report carries a reason and creates a record a reviewer can act on.
5.3 Regional compliance
Content must comply with the law of the region in which it is published. Content lawful in one region may be unlawful in another, and you are responsible for every Content Region you have selected. We may block content regionally in response to a governmental request.
CHAPTER 6 — SANCTIONS, APPEALS AND ACCOUNT STANDING
⚠ We may suspend or delete an account without prior notice for a breach of any provision of this Agreement. That right is independent of the tiered system below.
6.1 The strike system
Standing is scored, not counted: 100% is one full strike, and each type of violation carries a weighting against your account rather than a tally mark, so a minor slip and a serious breach are not the same event. The complete list, in force:
- Profanity prohibited in the applicable territory: +2.5%.
- Spam or misleading content: +5%.
- Harmful false information: +10%.
- Fake likes, views or bot activity: +15%.
- Impersonation: +20%.
- Harassment or bullying: +20%. Block evasion is scored here.
- Copyright infringement: +25%.
- Nudity or sexual content: +25%.
- Dangerous acts or self-harm: +30%.
- Scam or fraud: +40%.
- Hate speech: +50%.
- Sharing private information (doxxing): +60%.
- Malware or phishing links: +75%.
- Illegal goods (drugs, weapons): +80%.
- Violent or terrorist content: +200%, which results in immediate permanent deletion.
- Child safety: +200%, which results in immediate permanent deletion.
Percentages accumulate. Accounts that stay clean accrue a good-standing reduction of up to 25%, applied to the weight of FUTURE violations — it lowers what a new violation costs and never removes one already recorded. Anything weighted 200% or more ignores that reduction entirely: a clean history is not credit against child safety or terrorism.
Certain conduct is not scored at all and is handled by blocking, rate-limiting or removal instead — scraping, load abuse, rate-limit evasion, reward farming, ranking manipulation, region evasion by VPN, reverse engineering and unauthorised access. These are Chapter 4, and a percentage against them would wrongly imply a number of permitted attempts.
Your current standing, every strike on the account, what each one was for, and the percentage actually applied after any discount, are shown at Settings → Account standing. The same figures, rule by rule, are published in the Community Guidelines.
Strike levels
Strikes 1 and 2: a written warning.
Strike 3: suspension for 1 to 7 days, the length determined by breach history.
Strike 4: suspension for 30 days.
Strike 5: permanent deletion.
6.2 Appeals
Any strike or sanction may be appealed, with one exception stated in 8.7.
- APPEALS ARE FREE, whatever the outcome. There is no charge for appealing and no charge for losing.
- An appeal found to be plainly unfounded carries a further 5% against standing, and a pattern of them may itself be treated as misuse under Chapter 4. Where local law does not permit a penalty for exercising a right of appeal, none is applied.
- THE ONE THING THAT CANNOT BE APPEALED is the standing penalty for repeated refused copyright claims (8.7), because it is a count of decisions that were each appealable individually. Appeal the refusal, not the total.
- A moderation notice is a record. Turning off its notification stops the alert; it does not remove the notice or its effect.
6.3 Immediate deletion
We may delete an account immediately, without a phased process, for:
- Any activity that harms a child or threatens a child's safety.
- Terrorist propaganda or direct incitement to violence.
- An attempted cyberattack or security breach against Platform systems.
- A fake location, fake identity or forged financial document.
- A governmental request supported by evidence.
- Any other circumstance we consider, at our sole discretion, to present a significant risk.
CHAPTER 7 — CREATOR MODE AND WITHDRAWALS
7.1 The Creator Mode gate
Creator Mode unlocks the creator toolkit and the earning side of the account. Unless Launching Times is active, all three of the following must be true:
- Followers: 10,000 — or 5,000 with an active Commentrs Pro subscription.
- At least one publicly published video in the last 30 days.
- At least one of those videos past 10,000 views.
The halved follower requirement belongs to the SUBSCRIPTION. An OG or OG Pro badge does not by itself reduce the gate; OG Pro reaches the same place honestly, because its benefit grants a month of Pro and it is that subscription the gate reads. Every requirement, and exactly how far along you are, is listed at Settings → Account status — a bare refusal hides the two conditions you have already met.
7.2 Pro Only content
An account in Creator Mode may mark content "Pro Only". It is visible to Pro subscribers and pays the creator 60% of donations.
⚠ Marking everything Pro Only can cost you non-Pro followers. If your follower count falls below the Creator Mode threshold, Creator Mode is lost and Pro Only content is archived.
7.3 Withdrawals
CASHING OUT IS CURRENTLY CLOSED. Earnings continue to accrue, are recorded, and remain yours; the Wallet says plainly that the payout route is not open rather than advertising a withdrawal that would fail. We will not describe a funded rail we do not have. When it opens, the terms in this section apply.
- Minimum withdrawal: 1,250 Coms (approximately 20.00 USD). This applies to every account type, including Pro and OG, because a payout smaller than the fixed per-transfer fee is a bill rather than a payout.
- Withdrawal fee: 5% + 0.50 USD, quoted in full before you confirm.
- Eligibility requires a verified card and a single previous purchase of at least 100 Coms. Verification by donation is not accepted.
- Payout hold: an approved withdrawal is held for 14 days before funds are sent. Only the Coms you asked to cash out are reserved for that period; the rest of your balance is unaffected and stays spendable throughout.
- There is NO hold on Coms you buy. Coms bought with a card can be spent, donated, put into a promotion or withdrawn the moment the payment clears. A currency you have paid for and cannot use is not a currency, and anti-fraud belongs at the withdrawal, which is where value actually leaves the Platform.
- Withdrawals are available on the website only. Where a withdrawal is blocked, the screen lists exactly what is still outstanding.
- Your card must be issued in your Home Region. This is a rule of our payment provider rather than ours: a card registered to a different country is declined before we ever see the payment. The same applies to buying Coms, Credits and promotions.
7.4 Commentrs Pro
Commentrs Pro is a paid subscription (weekly, monthly or yearly). It provides:
- No advertisements.
- A Pro badge on the profile.
- The Creator Mode follower requirement halved, from 10,000 to 5,000.
- Live pins at face value rather than double, and a 50% rather than 65% rate on self-made live gifts.
- Account marketplace commission reduced from 30% to 10%.
- 3 accounts on one email address rather than 2.
- Access to Pro Only content, and the ability to publish it.
- A lower follower requirement for going live (50 rather than 100).
Pro is an incentive to produce, not a pay-to-win mechanic. It buys no ranking advantage and no engagement.
7.5 OG and OG Pro
Early users hold the OG badge. An OG user who maintains Pro for three consecutive months earns OG Pro, whose benefit is one free month of Commentrs Pro, claimable once. OG, Founder and OG Pro are ranked among primary accounts as described in section 3.1 and are displayed on primary accounts only.
CHAPTER 8 — INTELLECTUAL PROPERTY AND COPYRIGHT CLAIMS
8.1 Ownership and your representations
You retain ownership and copyright in everything you create, upload or share. By posting, you represent and warrant that you own the content or hold every licence, right and permission necessary to distribute it worldwide.
8.2 Licence granted to the Platform
By submitting content you grant us a non-exclusive, worldwide, royalty-free, sublicensable licence to host, store, use, display, reproduce, modify, adapt, publish and distribute it. That licence is strictly limited to operating, promoting, marketing, developing and improving the Platform's services — for example the Promote feature and the For You ranking.
8.3 Revocation on deletion
This licence is revocable. Deleting a piece of content, or deleting your account, terminates it automatically. We are not liable where content continues to appear because of caching, resharing by other users, or downloads that occurred before deletion.
8.4 Making a claim: "someone is using my own content"
A claim is filed from Support → "Someone is using my own content", which opens a dedicated form. You do not need an account to file one; a rights holder is the one person with no reason to have one, because the whole complaint is that somebody ELSE uploaded their work.
8.4.1 You must be the owner
THE PERSON FILING MUST BE THE PERSON WHO HOLDS THE RIGHTS. Not a manager, not a label contact, not a friend, not an agency acting on instructions. There is no "authorised to act on behalf of" route on this form and its removal was deliberate: every check that works compares the person filing to the owner named on the evidence, and an intermediary filing under their own name defeats all of them at once. If you are acting for somebody else, they file it themselves, from their own account or their own email.
8.4.2 What you are claiming, and how far it reaches
Three things can be taken on this Platform and they are not variations of one complaint. The form asks which, first, and states the reach of each before anything else is entered:
- A SOUND. Covers the sound itself and EVERY public video that used it — other people's work as well as the infringer's. The form states how many videos that is before you swear anything. This exists because a rights holder whose track was uploaded as custom audio is not fighting one clip: everyone who selected that sound is using it, and filing one claim per video is unwinnable.
- A VIDEO. Covers THAT ONE VIDEO and nothing else. If ten of your clips have been re-uploaded, that is ten claims. A video claim never affects the account that posted it beyond that clip.
- A PROFILE. Covers the WHOLE ACCOUNT: the assertion is that everything it is doing is you, or is pretending to be you. It is not the route for reporting one bad video. A profile claim is ALWAYS decided by a person and never acts automatically, because archiving a video is reversible in three days and removing an account is not.
Choosing the wrong one of these is the most common reason a good-faith claim is refused, which is why the reach of each is printed at the moment of choosing rather than here.
8.4.3 What proves it — and it differs by what you are claiming
- FOR A SOUND: one document showing the work is yours — a copyright registration; a distributor dashboard or royalty statement; a collecting-society registration; a signed licence, split or publishing agreement; a label contract; or a company signature circular naming you. A streaming-service page, a screenshot of the video, or a photograph of a disc show that the song exists, not that it is yours. Where the document carries an ISWC, IPI or ISRC, entering it is the strongest evidence available: the ISWC's check digit is verified arithmetically and the work is looked up in the relevant registry. A code that cannot exist refuses the claim on its own.
- FOR A VIDEO OR A PROFILE: no document is required, and one is no longer accepted as the primary evidence. There is no registry of who filmed a clip or whose face is whose, so a PDF proves nothing about either. What is required instead is that you point at YOUR OWN version — the original video, or your real account — and the form asks where it is:
· ON ANOTHER PLATFORM. You paste the link, and then you demonstrate that you control that account. See 8.4.4.
· ON COMMENTRS. You select one of your own videos, or one of your own accounts (primary or secondary). See 8.4.5. This option is not available signed out, because the whole check is a comparison against your own records and a signed-out visitor has none.
A sworn statement is required in every case. A takedown notice is a legal instrument and a false one is actionable against the person who filed it. Filing is limited to 10 claims per account per 24 hours (3 per browser per 24 hours signed out), and to one open claim per target.
8.4.4 Proving you control an account on another platform
Pasting a link proves nothing: anybody can paste anybody's link. So we issue you a code and ask you to put it somewhere only the account holder can write. The code is generated for your claim, has never been seen by anyone else, and is checked against the account you named.
- IF THE LINK IS TO YOUTUBE: you post a video on that channel, which may be Unlisted — nobody but us has to see it. Its description must contain the 9-character code and nothing else. The video must state: "I acknowledge that I am making a copyright claim on the Commentrs platform." How you state it follows what the channel is known for: if your voice is known, say it aloud; if your face is known, say it on camera; if neither is known, show it in writing on paper or as on-screen text. The video must also show the claim form you are filling in, filmed or screen-recorded. THIS ROUTE IS REVIEWED BY A PERSON, not by an automated check — a voice, a face and a screen recording are precisely what no automated check can read, which is also why this route carries more weight than a code in a profile. If you cannot post an unlisted video, you may instead place the 24-character code in the channel description and tell us so in the ticket.
- EVERY OTHER PLATFORM: you place the 24-character code in the profile bio or description of that account, and our checker reads the public page. It looks IMMEDIATELY, then again after 2 minutes, 5 minutes and 15 minutes — profile pages cache, and a code is frequently in place before it becomes visible to us. If it has not been found within 20 MINUTES, the automatic route stops and the case goes to a person; you are told so, and asked to LEAVE THE CODE IN PLACE FOR 5 DAYS so that the person reviewing it has something to confirm. You may remove it once the account is verified.
We fetch public pages only, we never ask for a password, and no member of our team will ever ask for one. Verification demonstrates CONTROL of an account. Control is not the same as ownership of a work, and it is not treated as such: it establishes that the account you pointed at is yours, which is the question a document could never answer.
8.4.5 When your original is on Commentrs
Nothing has to be uploaded or proved, because we hold both records. We compare the two publication dates:
- If the content you reported was published AFTER the one you identified as your original, the chronology supports your claim and it proceeds.
- If the content you reported was published BEFORE it, the claim is REFUSED IMMEDIATELY. Whoever published first published first; the item you identified is therefore not the original. This is the only verdict on the Platform decided by arithmetic rather than by judgement, and it is given at once rather than after a wait, because the answer is already known.
- For a profile claim the same comparison is made between the two accounts' creation dates, and the account you identify as yours must belong to your own account family.
Publishing first is strong evidence and it is not conclusive proof of authorship: two people can both re-upload a third person's work, and the earlier re-uploader is not the author. A favourable comparison therefore allows a claim to proceed; it does not decide it. An unfavourable comparison is conclusive in the other direction.
8.5 What happens after filing
- A SOUND CLAIM is checked automatically, in seconds. Three questions are answered separately — is the document real proof, does it name you, does it cover this work — and any identifiers are verified against the arithmetic and the registry.
- If the check passes, the content is ARCHIVED immediately — invisible to everyone including its uploader — and deleted after 3 days.
- If the check does not pass, nothing is hidden and a person reviews it. Taking content down on evidence we could not read would be its own mistake. The result names which check failed, so a better document can be supplied.
- A VIDEO OR PROFILE CLAIM is not decided by any automated check except the date comparison in 8.4.5. Where ownership has been demonstrated, a person reviews the claim with that demonstration in front of them.
- WE OPEN A SUPPORT TICKET FOR YOU, and that ticket is the channel for the entire case. For a signed-in claimant we do not ask for a contact email address: mail about a legal matter, sent to an address nobody has proved they can read, is not a channel. A signed-out claimant is asked for one, because their ticket lives in a single browser and clearing site data destroys it. The ticket goes straight to our team and bypasses the assistant entirely — no automated system attempts to answer a copyright notice.
- THE TICKET NUMBER IS THE CASE NUMBER. It is the number shown on the ticket, quoted in every message about the case, and the only reference you ever need to give us.
- That ticket cannot be closed by you for 5 days, and only our team can close it. This protects the one channel we have for telling you the outcome.
8.5.1 Removing a sound entirely
Where we accept that a sound should not be on the Platform at all, we delete it: the audio file is removed from storage, not merely hidden, and the sound cannot be selected again. This is a separate decision from upholding a claim and is never automatic.
Every video that used that sound is ARCHIVED rather than deleted. The soundtrack was always metadata attached to the video and was never mixed into the file, so the creator's own work is untouched and only the music is gone. Each affected creator is notified and can republish immediately, without asking anyone, in one of two ways: attach different audio, or un-archive the video with no audio at all. There is no queue, no appeal and no waiting period, because nothing has been decided against them.
8.6 Counter-notice and objections
The uploader is notified and has 3 days to object before deletion. An objection FREEZES the deletion clock and hands the case to a person; it does not by itself restore the content, and the screen says so before the button. If the objection succeeds the content is restored in full and any strike arising from the claim is removed. A formal counter-notice may be filed within 7 business days of a removal.
8.7 The cost of being wrong
Getting a claim wrong is not misconduct. People genuinely mistake a re-upload for a theft, a licence for an infringement, or their own distributor for a stranger, and a system that punishes the first honest error teaches rights holders not to file at all — which is a worse outcome than the mistake.
So the rule is a ladder rather than a penalty:
- YOUR FIRST 3 REFUSED CLAIMS COST 0%. Nothing is charged, nothing comes off your standing, and no record is held against you beyond the count itself.
- THE 4TH AND EVERY ONE AFTER IT COSTS 5% OF ACCOUNT STANDING, each. 5% of standing is 5 points on the same scale every other weighting in section 6.1 uses, where a full strike is 100.
- THE SAME COUNTER COVERS OBJECTIONS. An objection you file against a claim on your own video, which is then found to be baseless, counts on the same ladder as a refused claim. They are the same mistake seen from opposite ends.
- A 5% PENALTY UNDER THIS SECTION CANNOT BE APPEALED. This is the only non-appealable consequence on the Platform and the reason is arithmetic rather than policy: the penalty is a count of decisions that were each individually reviewed and each individually refused, and each of those WAS appealable at the time it was made. An appeal against the total is a request to re-litigate them all, one by one, in a queue built for something else. Appeal the individual refusal, not the count.
- The count is shown to you on the claim form BEFORE you swear the statement, including how many free ones you have left. A warning you can still act on is a warning; one delivered afterwards is a bill.
Where a claim is found to have been made in BAD FAITH — as distinct from being merely wrong — the account may additionally be sanctioned under Chapters 4 and 6, and a pattern of them may be treated as misuse of system resources. A claimant's record of refused claims is visible to reviewers for exactly this reason.
Filing without an account carries no standing penalty at all, because there is no account to carry one. We do not maintain a moderation record against a browser.
CHAPTER 9 — SUPPORT AND THE AI ASSISTANT
9.1 How support works
Support is a TICKET system, not a live chat, and it is presented as one. An AI assistant answers immediately; a person takes hours. You may hold up to 3 open tickets at a time, so that the queue stays answerable for everybody. Copyright tickets are exempt from that cap.
9.2 The scope of the assistant
The AI Assistant handles routine conversation, user support, and general inquiries. It never touches technical operations, system configurations, code execution, or infrastructure. All technical requests are strictly routed to engineering.
9.3 Reaching a person
"Talk to a human" is always available and unconditional. It needs no keyword and no agreement from the assistant. Certain subjects are routed to a person automatically and are never answered by the assistant at all: refunds and chargebacks, anything concerning your own payout or balance, account recovery or deletion, suspensions and appeals, and any legal or copyright matter.
Content that indicates a threat, self-harm, doxxing or comparable harm is passed to a person without any automated system processing it.
9.4 Accuracy and voice
The assistant is instructed to answer only from documented Platform behaviour, to give the exact path to a control, and to say plainly when it does not know rather than to guess. An optional alternative personality exists and changes the WORDING only — every safety rule, every routing rule and every fact is identical in both.
That personality is no longer a switch on the Support screen. It is turned on by searching a phrase in Discover and off by searching another, and finding it awards a badge. It was moved because the first thing on a screen somebody opens when something has gone wrong should not be an offer to make the help desk theatrical. Nothing about how it behaves changed; only where it is found. If you want it and cannot find it, ask the assistant — it will tell you the phrase.
CHAPTER 10 — NOTIFICATIONS AND COMMUNICATIONS
10.1 What we send, and what you control
Notifications are delivered in the app, and — where you have enabled it — as push notifications to a specific device. These are two different settings:
- Whether a DEVICE can be reached at all. That is a browser permission plus a push subscription, and it is per-installation: enabling it on your phone says nothing about your laptop.
- Which KINDS may interrupt you. That is per-account and applies on every device.
Turning notifications off always works and never depends on the device being able to register a background worker. Where a browser cannot support push at all, we say so plainly instead of offering a control that cannot function.
10.2 What a preference cannot do
A notification preference governs DELIVERY, never the record. Switching off moderation notifications stops the alert; the notice remains in Account standing and remains binding. Nothing in your settings can make an account notice disappear, because "I was never told" has to stay false.
CHAPTER 11 — DATA, ANALYTICS AND ADVERTISING
11.1 Analytics available to you
Every account can see how its own content performs: real viewer counts, unique viewers, watch time, completed plays, interest tiers, approximate viewer countries, and traffic sources per clip; and across the account, engagement, the daily shape of when your audience watches, and your top posts.
Creator Mode and business accounts additionally see audience demographics — age bands, gender and country — a weekday-by-hour activity grid, retention curves and traffic source breakdowns. Those require a larger audience because a breakdown of a small one identifies individuals; buckets below five people are always suppressed.
11.2 What is never shown
No analytics screen names a viewer. Watching is anonymous to the creator, to other users, and in every export. The only viewer identity a creator sees is the list of accounts that LIKED a video, which is a public act.
11.3 Lead data
Where you submit a lead form belonging to a business account, the data you enter is readable by that business and by team members it has granted the "leads" permission. Deleting a lead form does not delete the submissions already collected.
CHAPTER 12 — LIMITATION OF LIABILITY
12.1 Service "as is"
The Platform is provided on an "as is" and "as available" basis. While we aim for continuous availability and database integrity, we are not liable for temporary interruption, network failure, or data loss arising from third-party infrastructure. Balance databases (Coms, Diamonds and Credits) are backed up regularly to prevent financial data loss during a technical anomaly.
12.2 Reward programmes and earned balances
We may modify, suspend or terminate any promotional, bonus or reward programme, including Launching Times, at any time. No such change affects rewards or Coms already earned, finalised and credited to your wallet before the announcement.
12.3 Marketplace mediation
For peer-to-peer transactions conducted through the official Account Sale feature we charge a processing commission and act as a structural intermediary ensuring the automated transfer of assets. Our liability is limited to reversing the transaction, or restoring the Coms or the account, where a verified technical fault occurs during an official in-app sale. We accept no responsibility for any transaction attempted outside the application.
12.4 Third-party services
Payments, live-video transport, push delivery and automated content checks are provided in part by third parties. Where such a service is unavailable, the affected feature degrades and says so; it does not fail silently.
CHAPTER 13 — TERMINATION
13.1 By you
You may delete your account at any time from Settings → Danger zone. Deletion removes your profile, videos, comments and Coms balance, and terminates the licence in section 8.2. It cannot be undone. An unspent Coms balance is not refundable as money.
13.2 By us
We may suspend or terminate an account under Chapters 4, 5 and 6. Where an account is archived rather than deleted — for example following the region rules in Chapter 2 — the reason and the route back are stated on the account.
13.3 What survives
Sections concerning intellectual property already licensed and distributed, limitation of liability, and any outstanding obligation between us survive termination.
CHAPTER 14 — THE RIGHT TO AMEND
14.1 Modification
We may modify, update or revise this Agreement to reflect legal adjustment, technical improvement or product change.
14.2 Notice of material change
Minor corrections take effect on publication. For material change — including withdrawal thresholds, revenue shares, penalty rules, and account-management policy — we give at least 3 days' prior notice by in-app notification, push notification or email before the new terms take effect.
14.3 Acceptance
Continued use after the effective date constitutes acceptance. For critical economic or structural change we may require express consent through an in-app acceptance dialog before further use of Platform features.
This Agreement is effective from the moment you begin using the Commentrs platform.
